EPST AVIATION ENGLISH COURSE

The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) has recognized the importance of improving communication between pilots and air traffic controllers. All pilots who fly internationally and all air traffic controllers who provide services to international flights are required to reach a minimum level of English language proficiency, defined as Operational Level 4. This level must be demonstrated by March 5th 2008.

NEWS:
European Pilot Selection and Training (EPST) proudly announces the approval by the Dutch Civil Aviation Authority (IVW-DL) for English language proficiency testing. Actually EPST obtained the first LAB (Language Assessment Body) approval in The Netherlands. This approval follows earlier approval by both the Slovak CAA and the Czech CAA. They have accredited EPST to conduct aviation English proficiency testing for current pilots who fly internationally. EPST has now tested all the SkyEurope pilots as well as many from other airlines. EPST’s Aviation program manager Milina Kolomparova adds: “EPST is also fully accredited by the Slovak Ministry of Education as an English Language Training organization providing full-spectrum Aviation English language training to current and future international pilots and air traffic controllers”.

Aviation English testing

  • Approved language assessment (testing).
Language assessment to establish current English language levels and future training needs.
  • English language proficiency testing for licensing purposes.
  • Grading pilots and ATC personnel.

In addition to the JAA approval, EPST is also one of the accredited testing centers for Mayflower College. Our trained personnel use an internationally recognized language proficiency test for licensing purposes  – TEA (Test of English for Aviation), is not a test of operational competence – it is a test of English ability in an aviation context. It takes 30-minute, face-to-face interview.
