"Why selection"?

Many young people see selection as an obstacle to obtaining a pilot licence. If your ambition is to fly for an airline it would make sense before you spend time and money on flying training to check your flying aptitude and abilities against the kind of criteria used by airlines to select their future pilot employees. Gaining a commercial pilot licence and instrument rating is usually only the first step towards being accepted for airline training. The EPST selection procedure will provide you with an unbiased report on your flying aptitude and your personal qualities measured against typical airline selection standards.
1. Ab initio selection for individual candidates
EPST has a great deal of experience with selection of ab initio candidates. It is important to be able to recognize the quality of the candidates combined with their potential. Ab initio selection is not restricted to whether or not the candidate can complete an intensive flying training course, rather it indicates specifically whether or not the candidate can subsequently be trained on a fast jet, and measures his/her ability to perform well in a team. In addition, we look at many other criteria, for example potential leadership. Ab initio selection is always completed with a simulator "trainability assessment test". You may take the screening phase of this selection only, and receive a complete feedback package from EPST. (See EPST Selection Services)
2. Airline Jet Foundation Course (AJFC)
The AJFC course (also known as a bridge course) is specifically designed to make the transition from licence holder to an airline and jet type rating course ready pilot. This course is not a type-specific course but it will prepare pilots for type rating and airline employment. The course has been designed specifically for EPST by a very experienced Senior Training Captain. Pilots who have completed this course can expect to pass a jet type conversion/rating without significant problems. EPST will issue a valued certificate to all pilots who pass this course to our standard. This certificate is recognized by airlines who hold it in high regard, as it indicates an above average candidate with a high level of airline preparation.
